Migraine is a neurological, neurovascular, and genetic disease. Migraine affects one in seven people, and approximately 15% of the population suffers from it. In Israel, over one and a half million people suffer from migraine. It is an extremely common disease—more prevalent than diabetes, epilepsy, and asthma combined.
Two solutions the clinic offers its patients:
Stop suffering!
Gepants including Nurtec ODT, Ubrelvy
An advanced class of medications based on blocking/inhibiting CGRP protein receptors, which are associated with blood vessel dilation, neuroinflammation, and involved in the migraine mechanism, as well as participating in pain signal transmission in the nervous system. This is an effective treatment that works quickly, enabling return to function within 60 minutes, with long-lasting efficacy (pain relief for up to two days from taking the medication, with no need for additional pills). This treatment is much safer than analgesics, with no side effects compared to triptans, and can be given to people with vascular diseases because it does not cause arterial constriction. Treatment with gepants does not cause medication overuse headache, unlike analgesics and triptans.
The clinic offers a variety of other treatments including neuromodulation treatment with Nerivio, nerve blocks, and more.
BOTOX Treatment
This treatment is approved by Israel and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. It has high efficacy for preventing chronic migraine and medication-resistant cases. Botox is a toxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which blocks sensory nerves (such as the trigeminal nerve) and prevents the release of various neuropeptides including CGRP, which are involved in the migraine mechanism. Botox treatment has been proven to be effective and safe. To date, over one million people worldwide suffering from migraine have received this treatment, and it is essentially the treatment of choice for chronic migraine.
The treatment provides relief after the first session, and its efficacy increases with subsequent treatments. Patients experience a reduction in the frequency and intensity of migraine and headaches, reduce their use of analgesics, and enjoy a significant improvement in their quality of life. The treatment is administered only by a neurologist specializing in migraine treatment, lasts approximately 15 minutes, and allows continuation of the day as usual, as there are no restrictions following the treatment.
Subcutaneous biological treatment
These are monoclonal antibodies (MABs). The treatment is based on blocking CGRP protein receptors or CGRP ligand involved in the migraine mechanism. The treatment is intended for migraine prevention in cases of recurring weekly headaches / approximately 4 migraine attacks per month. The treatment is administered via subcutaneous injections once a month, using a convenient injection device such as Aimovig, Ajovy, or Emgality. Biological treatment for migraine prevention can be received via intravenous infusion with a prolonged effect of approximately 3 months. Vyepti treatment is received once per quarter within the framework of a neurological day hospitalization at the Israeli Clinic for Neurology and Migraine.
Intravenous biological treatment
Biological treatment with monoclonal antibodies to CGRP protein for migraine prevention, administered via intravenous infusion. The treatment was developed to increase the bioavailability of the medication, meaning the ratio between the amount of medication taken and the amount that reaches the bloodstream. Vyepti treatment is the only intravenous treatment that allows 100% of the active ingredient to reach the bloodstream, so it begins working immediately and has a prolonged effect for three months. The treatment duration is approximately 30 minutes, does not affect general condition, and allows immediate continuation of daily routine. Vyepti treatment can be received once per quarter within the framework of a neurological day hospitalization at the Israeli Clinic for Neurology and Migraine.
Advanced pharmacological treatment
Gepants including Nurtec ODT, Qulipta – An advanced class of medications based on blocking CGRP protein receptors involved in the migraine mechanism. The treatment is taken orally on a daily basis or once every two days. This is a treatment specifically designed for migraine—unlike antidepressants, anticonvulsants, or blood pressure medications—making it much more effective and safe.
The clinic offers a variety of other treatments including development of a personalized treatment plan for migraine prevention based on individual migraine attack triggers.
